Redfin App Download 2022

The 2022 App Download spot was my first time working on a national TV ad for Redfin, and I wanted to do something completely new: explore 3D animation. The final piece literally dives into the app, showing you all the cool things it can do. My favorite part is the tiny car at the very end, right before the door closes. 🚗

My favorite part about sketching is that you don't need to be an amazing artist to get your point across. The goal is simply to convey an idea. As you can see, these sketches are rough, but they successfully communicated my vision and gave me the creative freedom to explore the direction further. ✏️

We did a ton of early exploration on the style for this piece. It started out very monochromatic and slowly evolved into something with big pops of color. I still wonder what it would have looked like in that original, more subtle style.

Early motion studies were key for figuring out what was working and what wasn't. I bookmarked a couple of them for a future projects 😉
